Family Asset Management

Managing family assets well can be challenging depending on the scale and complexity of assets. A trusted lawyer is invaluable in ensuring that future generations are well provided for. Our Family Asset Management practice can be categorized into 3 main areas:

Trusts
J. S. Yeh & Co is able to advise on, draft trust documentation and establish family trusts for private clients. We also provide advice on fiduciary obligations of trustees to individual and corporate trustees, and provide legal support to satisfy these obligations.

Should the need arise, we are also able to act in contentious trust matters. We are able to act in trust disputes involving, inter alia, breach of fiduciary duty, asset tracing, contested accounting and other issues, and seek a cost-effective resolution of the matter.

Wills
J. S. Yeh & Co has been assisting clients in the administration of their estate since the inception of the firm. Drafting a will can be complex, and a poorly-drafted will can be challenged later. Our specialist Wills lawyers will take time to understand your specific needs and requirements, and ensure that your will is drafted according to your exact wishes and within legal limits.

Our firm can also assist in applying for a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA).

Probate
If you are an executrix appointed to administer a will, we recognize that giving effect to the Testator’s wishes can be daunting. Our firm will assist you to obtain the Grant of Probate, and ensure that the process of collecting all the Testator’s assets for distribution is smooth. Where appropriate, we are also able to assist in obtaining Letters of Administration.

Our lawyers can also act on your behalf to challenge a will. Contentious probate proceedings can be stressful for all parties. However, the difficulty and acrimony can be significantly reduced if you engage our lawyers to handle contentious probate matters sensitively.
