Mr Yeh Jin Sien was called to the English Bar in 1976, and subsequently entered private practice in Singapore in 1977.

His legal practice covers a wide range of civil and commercial litigation, criminal proceedings at both Trial and Appellate Court Levels. He also litigates on matters concerning real estate, divorce and ancillary relief (contentious and non-contentious), adoption, wills and probate, and landlord & tenant.

He undertakes drafting of commercial agreements, tenancy agreements, partnership agreements, joint venture agreements, incorporation of companies; and attends to bankruptcy & insolvency and immigration matters.

His conveyancing practice includes severance of joint tenancy, property transfer by way of gift, the sale & purchase of residential, commercial and industrial properties, as well as Jurong Town Corporation (JTC) and Housing and Development Board (HDB) properties. He has acted for many major banks (and their respective subsidiaries) and financial institutions in mortgages, redemption of mortgages, restrictions of mortgage loans, construction loans, guarantees, foreign currency loans, corporate financing, project financing, debentures, charges, collateral mortgages, factoring agreements and refinancing of residential, commercial and industrial properties. In connection with property development, he has acted for developers in the course of development, the tender of project, the sale of their projects, subdivision and partition of land and strata subdivision of individual units thereto.

Presently, he holds numerous appointments as consultant to businesses and clan associations. On numerous occasions, he has been invited by Mediacorp to review the scripts of television dramas when such dramas involve legal issues. He has also conducted public lectures and workshops in relation to Wills, the Law of Succession and Lasting Power of Attorney.

He is proficient in both the English and Chinese Language. Since the implementation of the open-door policy of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), he has prepared agreements written in Chinese, including legal opinions, partnership contracts, joint-venture agreements, sale & purchase agreements, and building contracts. He also notarises chinese documents, deeds of family arrangement, powers of attorney, and gives advice to Singapore clients on matters relating to properties, including advising on the concept of right of use in comparison to our law of legal ownership in Singapore and the law of the PRC.

Other Contributions

  • Acts as a legal adviser for unincorporated associations on a pro bono basis, and contributes on their executive committees.
